All of the advice in this module and the following modules adheres to the Federal Plain Language Guidelines published in 2011. You can access those Guidelines on the Web here. The Guidelines are consistent with FCA’s longtime standards concerning report writing, including such precepts as identifying and writing for your audience, organizing to meet the reader’s needs, composing topic sentences, covering only one topic in a paragraph, avoiding hidden verbs and passive voice, avoiding jargon, and so on.
